Material List:

  • Gamblin Cold Wax Medium 7oz jar

  • Gamblin Cold Wax 500ml can

  • Solvent Small bottle of Gamsol or a low toxic odourless solvent

  • Oil Paints any brand (they do not have to be expensive)

    • 2 transparent colours

    • 2 opaque colours

    • 1 or 2 bright like hot pink, orange, blue and can be fluro

    • 1 or 2 neutral colours (Titan buff, or warm white)

    • Transparent Black

    • White

  • Red handle Speedball Brayer are too hard and the sponge rollers are too soft

  • Messermeister bowl scraper (crescent shape) Amazon or Catalyst Wedge White or Grey

  • Palette Knife with a straight edge and a flat top

  • Messermeister squeegee (Gayle has imported a small and large from USA than can be purchased)

  • Wax paper tear off palette

  • 2 Cradle boards 10 x 12 or larger size if you prefer

  • Larger size may need more wax.

  • Oil paper A3 pad or one A1 sheet cut into four

  • Extra Materials you may already have will add more excitement or texture include oil pigment sticks and oil bars, Powdered pigments, pan pastels, marble powder, Soft chalk pastels, mica flakes, fine sand, powdered graphite or charcoal

(Some of the above will be available for use from teachers own stash)

  • Roll of Paper Towel

  • Grease proof or Baking paper

  • Roll of Blue painters Tape

  • A couple of pairs of blue nitrite gloves

  • Apron

  • Small glass container for the solvent

  • White tissue paper

  • Old credit card, rags, any markmaking tools from the kitchen or shed

    • Things which could make interesting marks or scratches

  • Brushes just a couple of oldies for solvent and or pipette or eye dropper

  • Small glass container with a lid
